The Ellmann Lectures will return on March 1-3, 2026 with bestselling novelist Min Jin Lee who will lecture on the theme "Can Wisdom be Taught?", exploring the subject of wisdom in an unpredictable world. Can wisdom— perhaps the highest value of an enlightened life— be taught and learned? What role do stories play in the cultivation of knowledge, discernment, and good judgment?
Min Jin Lee is the author of the novels Free Food for Millionaires and Pachinko, a National Book Award finalist, one of the New York Times “100 Best Books of the Century,” and an award-winning series on Netflix. She has just completed her third novel, American Hagwon, and a memoir entitled Name Recognition.
Lee’s essays and criticism have appeared in numerous distinguished publications. She writes often about her personal experience as a Korean American and her lectures will dovetail beautifully with the Fox Center’s AY 2025-26 research theme "Life/Story."
Please stay tuned for instructions on how to claim tickets. The Ellmann Lectures are free to attend and open to all.
